In the days that followed the incident, a close friend in Brazil began feeding me information directly in our Undernet #UFO channel giving me details as they were going on and being reported locally. Brazil has excellent and enthuastic investigators ... quick on the scene who obviously operated without many of the restraints or the stigma that we in the US are often confronted with.  Right after the event occured, even the local Sao Paulo newscast carried a rather good nariative and filmed interviews as local news. Being from a relatively well-to-do family, my friend was able convert and send me a copy in the NTSC format for viewing here.   Other that the open discussion in IRC (Internet Relay Chat), it was still some time (6-8 months) before we were to hear much, if any, news of the event. In that first newscast, the events and interviews were apparently concise, and honest.  It wasn't until the months later that details became more clouded and confused.

One of the most interesting things to come out of the investigation was the uncovering of an agreement that occured literally days after the incident in Brazil.

A bit of background of these documents is necessary for a full understanding of why they are only now being released.  I have personally had a copy in my possession for some 2 years or so.
These documents were an agreement and letters of cooperation between the United States / NASA and The Brazilian Space Agency signed by no less than Daniel Goldin (head of NASA) and Warren Christopher (Secretary of State)

The first copy had I been priveledged to view had been brought back by Derrel Sims. (It was my impression that Roger Lier also had been provided a copy as well.) At that time I was the webmaster for AlienHunter.org,  the website of Derrel Sims .. and later also of FIRSTevidence.org, the site of both Sims and Leir.  I recognized this as important documents that NEEDED to be presented ... however ... despite my urging and scanning of documents I could NOT get the principals to present or even comment. Until recently I did not feel it appropriate for me to present them independently even though, for whatever reason, they have chosen or not seen fit to release these documents as origionally planned.

In early April (2000) however, I obtained another copy from a "non-ufo researcher" who understood what they might mean to me and some of the overall implications. They appear to have been made from a "better/cleaner" possibly closer to origionals. These pages and documents are being posted here now for your ideas and comments which i would welcome.
